The Importance of Corporate Philanthropy

By Lakewood Land Company Staff Writer

Corporations that opt to engage their workforce in charitable activities reap many benefits. Here are three good reasons to involve your business in philanthropic efforts:

1. It helps the community. Supporting the community can lead to good things for any company, since a thriving and healthy community is more able to sustain thriving, healthy businesses.

2. It is good for morale. Companies that embrace public service and volunteer work will notice a boost in morale as employees work together for the better good. This may translate to improved teamwork during the workday as well.

3. It improves the company’s image. Getting involved in the community is a great way to get publicity. However, companies must ensure that volunteer work is done to help the community, and not just for the image boost.
